Emmetsburg Community Development Corporation (ECDC)

Emmetsburg Community Development Corporation is a private, non-profit organization formed in 2006. ECDC seeks to improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Emmetsburg by providing leadership and promoting community development that focuses on expansion of existing businesses, promoting new businesses and job growth.

The ECDC is administered by ten directors. The following organizations each appoint one member: Emmetsburg City Council, Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities, Iowa Lakes Community College, Emmetsburg Community School, and the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce. The remaining five directors are elected from the membership. The appointed and elected directors represent an affiliation of industrial, service, financial and retail business occupations, government professionals, and individuals involved in community development.

ECDC is developing a 58 acre Business Park located in southeast Emmetsburg for current and future business expansion. Please contact the Emmetsburg Community Developer at 712-852-2262 for additional information on available sites.

ECDC cooperates with other local economic development organizations to foster growth including the City of Emmetsburg Industrial Development Board, the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce and the Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation (PACEDC).
