PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Emmetsburg/Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities wish to lease, for a three-year period beginning March 1, 2023, two parcels of agricultural land situated just south of the city, and is now accepting cash rent bids. Persons interested may submit one sealed bid for approximately sixty-six (66) acres.

General Description – Fifty-six (56) acres (approximately) located south/southeast of Emmetsburg’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Legal Description: Sublots Two (2), Five (5), Seven (7), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11) and Twelve (12), as well as the vacated alleys between Sublots Seven (7), and Eight (8), and between Sublots Eleven (11) and Twelve (12) of the Northeast Quarter (NE ¼) of Section Thirty Six (36), Township Ninety Six (96) North, Range Thirty Three (33) West of the 5th PM in Palo Alto County, Iowa.
Special Condition – The entire field must be seeded to alfalfa or oats and be available to the City of Emmetsburg for sludge disposal.

General Description – Ten (10) acres (approximately) located just north of Emmetsburg’s Evergreen Cemetery.
Legal Description – The East Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (E ½, NE ¼, NE ¼) and the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NE ¼, SE ¼, NE ¼) of Section Thirty-Six (36), Township Ninety-Six (96) North, Range Thirty-Three (33) West of the 5th PM in Palo Alto County, Iowa.
Special Condition – The entire field must be seeded to alfalfa or oats and be available to the City of Emmetsburg for sludge disposal.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Bids can be delivered to Emmetsburg City Hall, Attn: City Clerk, 2021 Main Street, Emmetsburg, IA 50536. Bids will be opened and considered by the City Council at 6:00 PM on Monday, January 23, 2023. Bidders will not be allowed to increase their bids.
