The City of Emmetsburg will remove snow from the city streets following a snow event of two inches or more. The first day the city’s crew will open the city streets beginning with the designated emergency routes. The city code prohibits parking on any city street between 2:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed.
The business district parking area will be cleared the day following the opening of all city streets. Business owners are reminded that all downtown sidewalks need to be cleared to the curb. Business parking lot owners are responsible for the removal of their snow piles. The piles should not be placed in the right-of-way obstructing visibility. During the snow event, there will be no parking allowed in the business district after 11:00 P.M. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed.
