Emmetsburg City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 6:00 PM at the City Hall Council Chambers.

Legislative Town Hall Meetings with Rep. Megan Jones, Sen. Dave Rowley and Rep. John Wills, Speaker Pro-Tem at the Emmetsburg Chamber /Welcome Center.

Emmetsburg Residential Clean up Week is scheduled for May 2 through May 6. A $15 permit is required and must be purchased in advance of your pick up day.  Permits can be purchased at City Hall (Cash or check only – No refunds.)  Check with City Hall for other rules and regulations specific to Clean up Week.

Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities will be flushing water mains.  Crews will start flushing mains at Harrison Park and work clockwise.  Emmetsburg residents are encouraged to check their water before doing laundry.

Emmetsburg City Hall and Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities (EMU) offices will be closed Monday, July 4th for Independence Day.

The City of Emmetsburg & Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities will be closed on Monday, September 5th in honor of Labor Day.  Monday's solid waste collection will be picked up on Tuesday, September 6th.

Emmetsburg City Hall and Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities will be closed on November 11th in honor of the Veterans Day holiday. Friday's solid waste route will be picked up early on Thursday, November 10th.

The public library staff is off in observance of Veterans Day. There is no Pokémon Club. The college library staff is available to serve you 8:00A-4:00P.

Emmetsburg City Hall and Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities will be closed on November 24-25th in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday's solid waste route will be picked up early on Wednesday, November 23rd. Friday's solid waste route will be picked up on Monday, November 28th.
