NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILL VACANCY BY APPOINTMENT
Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 372.13 (2)(a), the Emmetsburg City Council intends to fill the At Large Council vacancy by appointment. The person appointed will fill the vacancy until the next regular city election.
Under this code section the electors of the City of Emmetsburg have the right to file a petition requesting the vacancy be filled by special election, by filing a petition in accordance with Iowa Code Section 372.13 (2)(a) within fourteen (14) days after publication of this notice or within fourteen (14) days after appointment is made by the City Council, whichever is later.
The Emmetsburg City Council intends to make this appointment at their April 7, 2025 special meeting, which will begin at 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 2021 Main Street, Emmetsburg, Iowa 50536.
